01Flagship service
Find the right business partners in China.
Distributor, agent, supplier and business partner search in China — every company on your shortlist is one we've checked and approached, not a row from a database.
Finding companies isn't the challenge
China has no shortage of companies. What it has a shortage of is reliable ways to know which ones are real, which are serious, and which will still be answering emails in six months.
Directories give you thousands of names. A friend of a friend gives you one or two. Neither tells you who to actually spend your time on.
Befeus works in between: a defined search, real checking, direct contact in Mandarin — and a shortlist of companies that have already shown they're willing to talk.
What's included
Search and outreach
- A defined profile of who you're looking for — distributor, agent, importer, supplier where that's the right fit, or another kind of partner — based on what you sell or buy, your price level and your goals.
- Search in Mandarin across Chinese channels, not just English-language directories.
- Direct contact with candidate companies — by phone, WeChat or email, in Chinese, introduced properly.
- Screening for genuine interest: who responds, how quickly, and what they actually ask you.
Preliminary business verification
For every company that makes the shortlist, before it reaches you:
- Company registration checks against official records — existence, registration status, business scope, and key principals where available.
- A review of publicly available information.
- Cross-checks of what the company claims — addresses, certificates, references — against what we can observe or confirm.
- Practical red-flag identification: inconsistencies, mismatches and evasions that are easy to miss from overseas.
- Where a decision needs more, we'll say so plainly — and can help identify and coordinate an appropriate qualified specialist provider.
What a shortlist contains
Just as important: what we couldn't confirm gets written down too.
Depending on the agreed scope and the market, a shortlist typically includes several companies worth a serious conversation — for many projects, the agreed target is three to five qualified candidates. That number is set when we scope the work together; it isn't promised in advance.
For each company on the list:
- 01Who they are — registration basics and a business profile.
- 02What we found when we checked.
- 03How they responded, and what they asked.
- 04Our assessment — fit, open questions, and flags.
Process
How our search process works
Brief.
You tell us what you sell or buy, who you're looking for, and what a good outcome looks like. A call helps; it isn't required.
Scope and quote.
We define the search, the checks, the deliverable and the price. Work starts when you approve.
Search and first contact.
Done in Mandarin, across channels that actually reach companies — not just English listings.
Checks.
Registration records, public information and response behaviour — as described above.
Shortlist report.
Written, with our assessment and the open questions. Evidence included where it exists.
Introductions.
You decide who to meet. We can hand over the contacts or stay involved — and if you want to meet in person, that's the Visit service.
Boundary
A note on "verification"
Befeus provides preliminary business verification — practical checks based on registration records, publicly available information and direct contact.
It is not legal due diligence, financial due diligence, a formal audit, or a guarantee that any company is safe or that a transaction will succeed. No preliminary business check can guarantee the outcome of a future transaction.
When your decision needs that level of assurance, we'll tell you early — and can help identify and coordinate a qualified professional provider.
Questions we're used to
Do you take commission from the companies you find?
No. Befeus is paid by the client for the agreed work and does not accept commissions or referral payments from companies it checks or introduces.
Can you guarantee the companies are legitimate?
No. No preliminary business check can guarantee the outcome of a future transaction. Our checks are practical and business-level; they catch a lot, but they are not legal due diligence. Every report states what we checked and what we couldn't confirm.
What do you need from us to start?
What you sell or buy, who you're looking for, your rough price position, and your timeline. A few sentences to begin — we'll ask for the rest.
Does the search cover all of China?
Search and contact work can cover companies across China — it's desk and phone work. On-site work is scoped separately, with Shanghai as the normal base and other cities available by arrangement. See China Visit & Trade Fair Support.
